Do You Hear The Sound Of Blade Bait?

Blade baits are an often overlooked option. If you can't catch a fish on the same lure every time you fish, try a blade bait.

2.Size selection

Speed and depth will affect the blade bait size you choose. 1/8 or 1/4 oz blade baits are suitable for fishing in shallow waters and creeks. For trolling or vertical jumping in deeper water, use 1/2 to 3/4-ounce blade baits.

1.What is blade bait?

A blade bait is a metal crank bait consisting of a flat metal spoon with a weighted nose and two sets of fishing hooks. Blade baits attract fish by generating a lot of vibration from the metal blade, and the vertical profile of blade baits mimics small fish.

3.Technology

The technique of using a blade bait is mainly lifting and dropping. Blade baits vibrate as they rise and fall. When fishing vertically, let it drop first, jig it vertically with a snapping upward motion, then pause, let it drop again, and repeat the process. You can try different rhythms to increase the height of the rod and increase speed of the rod. Another technique is trolling, slowing down the trolling blade, adding an occasional twitch, or dropping the tip back and pulling it forward to mix the action.

4.Application

Blade baits can be used year-round, even during late fall, winter and spring when water temperatures are the coldest of the year. Deeper waters are often prime locations for fishing, such as lakes, reservoirs, creek mouths, and even holes that accommodate deeper water.
